Saturday, December 11th,

I rode Handsome last night. The last couple nights, I have had things setup just how I needed them to and it just didn't come together. I'm going to ride Handsome again tonight because tonight we're just running at the round, and he gives me the best chance I think.

I rode Jim again last night. I didn't get as good of a start as I wanted though, so I had to throw further than I wanted to. I'm going to rope some on him this afternoon, and tonight, hopefully I can get a better start and not have to throw so far. We need to keep placing in the rounds and also try to stay in the average at this point.

I'll be signing tomorrow at the Tarter and Cactus Booths.

Monday, December 6th, 2010

I made a horse change last night. I rode my horse, Jim. He worked pretty well, but I feel like if he would have pulled a bit stronger, Jade would have had a better look at our steer and roped him. Tonight is supposed to be the slow pen. I'm planning on riding Jim unless I get a real slow one. If that happens, I will probably get on Handsome.

I will also be signing autographs at the Cactus Booth at the Convention Center until 4.

Last night, I rode Jewel, and I roped our steer a little deep. So when I took ahold of him, it caused him to hit, and then when it came tight, it kind of snatched him away from Jade. Jade was smart and tracked up to get him caught. We'll try to pick up the pace a little tonight, but we also want to keep getting our steers caught.

Last night, our steer was supposed to step right, I broke a little too much toward the pin, and the steer did the exact opposite. Jewel has worked well on both steers. I plan on riding her tonight. I'm headed to rope this afternoon on Jim, but he would have to work really well for me to ride him tonight. I think staying consistent is the best thing for now. I also have Handsome out here if I need him.

So my phone has been going off constantly today wondering what horse I rode last night. That horse is a mare of Jade's, named Jewel, that you can head, heel, rope calves, and pretty much do anything on. I've ridden her a lot, and I really like her. I'm going to ride her tonight too. I also brought my bay, Jim, and Shain Sproul also let me bring his gray, Handsome. All of them feel really good, but I'm going to stay on Jewel. Thanks for following my blog, and I'll have more for you tomorrow.
